It isn't pretty.]]>

One thing we learned from the first season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” is that the queens aren’t always so pretty. Take that any way you want to. It’ll wurq!

Recently, that point was driven hard when video of the queens stuck in their hotel rooms hit the web. Turns out that in order to keep their identities secret and to keep them from meeting each other, the queens had to stay in their rooms for the two days before the show started shooting. Aight? The worse part that they didn’t have good cable. I don’t know what I’d do if I had to stay in a room without TV for two days. I may be forced to read a book. Scary.

Check out how the second season queens handled it:

I warned you it wasn’t pretty.

British GQ just announced its annual best-dressed list and guess who killed? ‘Twilight’s’ own Robert Pattinson.

“Extremely elegant and inspiring,” says D&G designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. “The true essence of a contemporary man.”

Usually dressed in a t-shirt and jeans, Pattinson does know how to rock a tux when needed. He shot up from 39th place on last year’s list and it seems his ‘Twilight’ stardom had something to do with it.

“Just type his name into Google,” says British GQ. “And the nine million search results might explain this Brit actor’s unstoppable rise to the top spot.”

Hmm, sounds more like an explanation for a popularity contest than a style list. Either way, it’s clear the magazine is hedging their bets that we’ll all agree: RPatz can vamp better than anyone.

Just take a look at who he beat:

Alexa Chung’s boyfriend and Arctic Monkeys rocker Alex Turner in third, American designer Tom Ford took fifth (ouch!), the current James Bond Daniel Craig at number six, and Mr. Posh Spice David Beckham in ninth place.

For us mere mortals, GQ has deconstructed one of Pattinson’s looks. Take note.

“Ugly Betty” takes it rightful place this Wednesday on ABC’s primetime comedy block. I’m hoping that it will give the show the viewers it needs to keep going.

Last month, “Ugly Betty” fans threw a fit when rumors of its cancellation were becoming hard to ignore and fans began to circulate a petition to urge ABC not to cancel it. Soon after, ABC announced the show’s move to Wednesday from the Friday night death slot.

TV Fanatic posted a first look video of Jesse Tyler Ferguson, half of the hilare gay couple on “Modern Family,” as he reprises his role as Betty’s orthodontist. We can assume he’ll be back when the much anticipated removal of Betty’s braces goes down.

Check out the video below:

“Ugly Betty” makes its Wednesday debut Jan. 6 at 10pm E/P on ABC.

Ah, “Jersey Shore.” What an amazing train wreck of a show. It has definitely become one of my fave guilty pleasures of the Winter. Of course, it hasn’t been just mine. The whole nation, whether they admit it or not, are watching. It’s popular to hate on the cast, but hell, I think they’re just doing what we all did in our early-twenties: Party like “foos.”

So, I wasn’t surprised to hear that a company is now producing a porn inspired by the show called “Jersey Whores.” It did get me thinking, though. What other reality shows are ripe for a porn spin-off?

Here is my top 10 list of Reality TV shows that could totally go porno:

  1. “America’s Next Top Brothel” – Nevada’s most talented male (remember, they just allowed guys into brothels) and female prostitutes compete for the coveted title.
  2. “The Biggest Cruiser” – How many republicans and evangelicals can one guy pick up in parks, hotel lobbies and airports across the nation?
  3. “Celebrity Hole” – Who could be the hole?
  4. “Extreme Makeover: Ho Edition” – Is that a hammer in your pocket?
  5. “I Love New Pork” – It’s your girl, New York, and she’s keepin’ it real.
  6. “Jack Ass” – You have been punk’d!
  7. “Jon & Kate Plus a Date” – To save their marriage, Kate decides to let Jon indulge his cheating ways. It’s all for the kids.
  8. “LA Twink” – Filmed every weekend in West Hollywood.
  9. “Man vs. Girls Gone Wild” – Will he survive?
  10. “Pimp my Bride” – She never looked hotter.

What other reality shows do you think will make an awesome porn spin-off? Let me know in the comments below.

It has been too long since the ex-trah-vah-gahn-zaaaaa of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” has graced our TV sets with a new episode. It’s coming, folks, and Rupaul talked to CNS about the judges, the budget and how Ru feels about being back in vogue.

What to expect:
The fans of the show can expect for the girls to really go for it. Not that they didn’t go for it last season, but the girls last season were very diplomatic and they knew they were representing a genre that was absent from the mainstream for many years. Well this season, all of that goes out the window. (Laughing) Honey, these bitches are ruthless. They’ve had the advantage of having seen the show and they were able to strategize.

Gone is that low-budge nonsense from season 1:
The proof is in the pudding. The production value, the set, the studio is all like 100 times better. We had no budget the first season. We knew that the concept was much bigger than what we had to do with it.

Second Season judges:
We’ve got some really great judges. Academy Award Winner Tatum O’Neal, Academy Award Winner Cloris Leachman, Jackie Collins, Niecy Nash, Martha Walsh, Henry Rollins, just to name a few.

On her return to TV:
It’s not lost on me that having been in show business for 28 years now that I can still have a career. This is not the easiest business to have a career in. I am so grateful for the support, for the fans and to have a TV show. For years people would say to me on the street and say, “You know what Rupaul, I think you should get back into television.” And I would just say, “Okay.” Like if it was that easy! (Laughing) It’s very, very difficult to get a show launched and bought by a network. People have no idea and I am so grateful.

On being a mentor to the contestants:
Growing up as a young gay man, I had mentors who helped me along and educated me on the history of gay culture, art, beauty. It’s so important because I feel that it’s something that’s missing from the current generation of young gay kids. Not only just young gay kids, but young people in general are clueless when it comes to pop history, political history. They believe that everything started 10 years ago and it’s important to know this stuff otherwise you are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past.

I’ve been a fan of Rufus Wainwright since a free CD of his music landed in my goodie bag at an NYC Pride in the late-90s. Since then, I’ve run into him a few times. Each time he was really nowhere close to a “Prima Donna.” The most memorable time for me was the night we knocked into each other at the now-shuttered East Village, NYC gay bar, Cock.

Famous for its illicit backroom orgies in the Giuliani-era, you either landed in the orgy or you were a spectator. That night, Rufus and me were spectators. I just looked over and he was standing next to me. The funny part was that earlier that week, my friend fainted at his show. Wainwright had to stop the concert and scream at everyone to allow us to leave the floor. He was happy to have met me, since he had no idea what happened to the fallen fan and whether that person was OK. (by the way, hottie Paul Rudd of “Clueless,” “Knocked Up,” etc., stood next to me at the concert. I lit his cig and we were packed together so tightly, I felt his breath on my neck. Hot! Oh, and my friend was fine, too.) Rufus and I small-talked for a bit more and then split up.

The other times I ran into him was when my company sponsored his show in San Diego in 2003 and that same year at the Sunset Junction music festival in Silver Lake, CA.

So, I’m excited to see ‘Prima Donna,’ the documentary of Wainwright’s entre into classical opera. It promises to tell me much more than I could learn in the few minutes I stood next to him at Cock and gives us a better understanding of the genius behind his music as a whole. Check out the trailer below.

“Prima Donna” premieres tonight, Mon. Dec. 21 at 9PM. For more exclusive videos click here and click here for more showings on Sundance.

There was a time when Lindsay Lohan was a sweet freckled, red headed “girl next door.” She was once believable as the lone goodie-goodie in “Mean Girls.” Or playing both twin sisters in a scheme to hook up their lonely parents in Disney’s “The Parent Trap.” Now, the Lindsay Lohan we know is the farthest thing from the girl next door.

Since then, she has pulled an “Anne Heche” by going (on again, off again) lesbian for celeb DJ Samantha Ronson. And it seems she has been in and out of rehab even more than she has been in and out of Ronson. She has also had a very public war with her fame-hungry father, Michael Lohan. And just this week, a charity says she lied about saving 40 children from a sweatshop in India! Pretty sure there’s a special place at Ross for someone who lies about saving children. Anyway, you’ve got the point: Lohan’s trashy rap sheet goes on and on.

So, how does a girl one up her own trashiness? She takes it global.

Recently, video and images from Lohan’s steamy shoot for Italian Muse Magazine surfaced. Inspired by Johnny Depp and Kate Moss’s tumultuous relationship in the 90s, I can’t help but have a problem separating Lindsay from the equation: Naked, smoking and romping around a messy room with both a guy and a girl? Yes, the shoot was artsy and she looks gorgeous in it, but whether she’s stateside or in Italy, it’s trash-tastically Lohan! I kinda love it.

Check out the video below and the rest of the nudie pics here, then let me know what you think!

They include O.G. “90210” actress Tori Spelling, as well as “Clean House’s” Niecy Nash and Mark Brunetz. Now, you can see him weekly as he assists New York Times’ “world’s sexiest chef” Jean-Christophe Novelli on Bravo’s “Chef Academy.”

Today, I dished with Sturdivant on some of the hoops he has jumped through as a celebrity assistant, what it’s like to assist Novelli and what we can expect this season on “Chef Academy.”

So, how does it feel to be the newest member of the Bravo class of gay assistants [Rachel Zoe's Brad Goreski, Dina’s assistant on “RHONJ,” and Jeff Lewis’ intern/assistant Trace Lehnhoff]?
I feel honored. It does feel good. If anything, that’s the one winning combination in it all. I got to be a good solid assistant for Bravo, which has a history of having great gay assistants on TV.

Some of the media have made the comment that you’re just another stereotypically funny gay assistant. Are you OK with that?
Yes, I am. Actually, I’m really kind of honored that they think that I’m the funny gay assistant. It just kind of happened that way. I’m very honored that I didn’t have to hold back who I was as a person. It was awesome to be part of a show that was OK with that and I didn’t have to hide it.

Your first assistant gig was with Tori Spelling while she shot the Hallmark film “A Carol Christmas.” As you know, the gays love Tori. What was she like?

Tori was actually really, really awesome. I was shocked, because she was a lot cooler than some of her costars, some unknown costars, must I say. She was just really laid back. She knew the drill. So, anytime we had to re-position and do lighting, she would just sit and go out and knit somewhere. She didn’t have to go out to her trailer or be diva-ish in any way, shape or form.

So, you’re saying Tori Spelling is not a diva? Really?
She wasn’t when I knew her. I hear that’s a different story now. She has two kids, and a clothing line, and a book, yada yada. When I knew her post-“90210” and pre-“Tori & Dean,” all she had was Hallmark. So, she was really laid back.

Did Tori have any weird things you would have to do for her?
Well, I was new to L.A. and she kept asking for that boba thing. I didn’t know what those were. It took me a long time one day to figure out what a boba was. And, I had to change her dogs’ outfits once, because she was going to a party. I had to go into her trailer, change the dogs’ outfits, so they would be in theme for the party she was going to that night [laughs].

So, now you’re on “Chef Academy.” How did that happen?
I got a call from the show asking if I still assisted and if I’d be interested in assisting a chef from Europe, who was going to open his own culinary school here. They had heard about me, because on Facebook I said I used to be Tori’s assistant. Also, on the side, I have worked for Mark Brunetz from “Clean House.” That’s the one thing I tend to fall into: I’m good at being someone’s bitch.

Are there any differences between being an assistant in real life and being one on television?
No, there isn’t a difference. You’re fetching dry-cleaning whether the cameras are rolling or not.

You were hired to be Jean’s assistant, why have the students been asking you to do things for them?
Miss Suzanne got on my good side and I realized why she was so quick to get on my good side. She realized I could do things for her, such as find a tailor or go move her car, or go get her cooking book or hold her diamonds. Other than that, the other students respected me. If anything, they’ll ask me , “Hey, can I have a private moment with chef?” But, other than that, my only personal requests were coming from Miss Suzanne Winn.

How much of your day was actually spent assisting?
I spent usually from nine to about seven, eight o’clock at night. I have to admit, I wasn’t always assisting him 24/7. If I wasn’t assisting him, I was with his fiancé and we were doing things together as a unit.

On the show, it seems like Michelle has become your BFF.
Me and Michelle Kennedy became really, really close, because whenever Jean was teaching class, me and her would buddy up. We ended up being really, really close. I got her extensions. I taught her all about spray tans. So, we got really close.

What are some of the strangest things that the chef or his fiancé asked you to do for them?
I did get a strange request and you’ll see it tonight. Uh, where I had to oil down Emmanuel, post-porn star. And I asked the chef why he wanted that and he said, “[he uses his best French accent] That’s the way they do it. Oil. Oil.” And me and Emmanuel were like, really? That’s very 80’s, but we did as we were told!

Is he as random as he comes off on the show?
Yes. He is random. I mean the fact that the guy wears underwear and he calls them shorts is random. There’s also a story where I told Michelle I had to confide in her. I opened up their cabinet and I told Michelle there was something in there called “Spotted Dick.” She started laughing and laughing. She said,”[he uses his best English accent] Honey, it’s called Speckled Dick.” I said, “speckled, spotted, it’s all bad dick. You should not be eating it.” I found out that a really well known English snack is called Spotted Dick.

You’re a funny guy and the chef, not so much. Were there times where you just had to give him the obligatory laugh?
Yes, and there were a lot of times where I was just lost. Thank, God, for the times I was with him and I had Michelle. I was able to defer to his fiancé on what the hell he just said and why it was funny. But, yeah, he got a lot of [he fake laughs], I don’t understand what you just said.

Who was your favorite and who was your least favorite of all the students?

My favorite, I admit, at first I could not stand her. In the end, my favorite ended up being Suzanne. Only because in every situation, she tried to find the positive of it. She would always go out of her way to make a situation better. That’s what I loved about her. I’m not a big fan of Sarah. She’s a wounded bird. She’ll be crying throughout the whole show – just watch! “Kup” and Kyle, the two boys, granted they were a little bit too butchy for me, at first, but they grew on me.

What’s going on behind-the-scenes that the viewers aren’t seeing?
What they’re not seeing is that there seems to by an underlying tone where no one seems to be on Zoe’s side. No one on that team, even Leo. She claims on the show that she and Leo are tight, but behind-the-scenes there ain’t nobody that befriends her. God bless her. I love her. Also, “Kup” and Carissa have a little relationship that you wouldn’t assume, because she’s a little housewife and he’s the tough Navy guy, but they become close. Pretty much, that’s all the good gossip. I did see Mr. Leo at a gay club and he would not say hello to me.

What are some entertaining things that will be coming up on the show?

There is a good episode where we raise a lot of money for charity and even Miss Appolonia, Prince’s right-hand woman, shows up in the end. We have a whole fish segment where some of the students have an allergic reaction to it and that’s a whole drama within itself. That’s a good episode [he laughs].

Obviously, you know who passed. What were your feelings on who actually graduated the academy?

I think it’s fair in the end. In the end, they had a fair ruling on who should get a diploma and who should not.

If the show is renewed next season, would you come back?
Oh, definitely. Definitely. Not that I really have a choice, because I have a three year contract.

Well, here’s the question my readers really want to know. Are you single?

Not right now. Print that [he laughs]! I’m in a relationship and actually we shot a subplot for the last episode where I have to ask Jean if it’s appropriate if I bring my boyfriend to the finale dinner. So, you’ll find out.

“Chef Academy” airs Mondays at 10 p.m. on Bravo.

In fact, I believe he has delivered one of the bravest commentaries on the gay double standard in Hollywood that we’ve seen in a long time (that’s including loser Adam Lambert).

“I think, all in all,” says Everett, 50, of his closeted colleagues. “I’m probably much happier than they are. I may not be as rich or successful, but at least I’m vaguely free to be myself.”

The media has definitely been quick to jump to Everett’s backhanded advice to closeted actors. “It’s not that advisable to be honest. It’s not very easy,” says the “Best Friend’s Wedding” star. “And, honestly, I would not advise any actor necessarily, if he was really thinking of his career, to come out.”

Here’s the thing: No, it’s not easy to be out. Gay people are forced to risk their relationships, their safety and their livelihood by purely being themselves. That has nothing to do with homosexuals, though. It has way more to do with how straight people have chosen to make our lives difficult. For celebrities, the risk may be multiplied a hundred times, because they not only risk all the same things we do, but their coming out process will take place in the public eye.

That’s exactly why they must come out. Celebrities have something us plebians don’t have: The ability to get their message out to millions of people. That’s important when the kid in Duluth, Minn., who has no friends, scary Christian parents, and a bottle of sleeping pills feels so alien that killing himself is easier than living as an out gay man.

Everett, who has been out for 25 years, has been honest: he may not be getting the leading man roles or have as much money in the bank as his more famous closeted colleagues, but at least he’s not cowering in the back house with the pool boy or calling in some crack whore to teabag him when his famous actress wife is on-set. And, let’s face it: Rupert isn’t hurting for cash, either.
